What role do data centers play in our communities, and what questions should we be asking about them?

Join us for a community panel at The Amarillo College Innovation Outpost at 12 p.m. Thursday, May 21 for a discussion exploring what data centers are and aren't, how they impact local economies and infrastructure, and what policy solutions are being considered. The discussion will cover topics on grid reliability, water usage, community investment, and more. It will also include a Q&A session with the audience. 

When major investments are being considered, communities deserve to be part of the conversation from the start, understanding what it means for them and how they can shape it. A good investment is always made better with a strong community partner, and that partnership begins with an informed, open dialogue.

This event, hosted by the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, is part of a series underwritten by Google, featuring George P. Bush, CEO and managing partner of Pine Cove Strategies and former Texas Land Commissioner; Matt Garner, founding director, The RANGE (Regional Accelerator and New Growth Engine); Chris Matos, Google; and Carson County Judge Dan Looten. 

Moderating the conversation is Texas Tribune Editor-in-Chief Matthew Watkins.
